Anti Bullying Week

As it is Anti Bullying Week, our assembly focused on this theme.  We discussed what bullying is, what it is not and what we can do about it.  All participated in an activity where some volunteers came up to look in a box (which had a mirror inside).  I asked them questions such as; was there something special in the box?  Was it unique?  Was it beautiful?  Did you like it?  Was it the same as what others saw?  The mirror was then revealed to all.  We discussed that it is really exciting that everyone is different and we should celebrate this.  I shared an analogy of baking a cake and how each of us are different ingredients who come together to make one good, positive thing, such as a cake.  But if there ingredients were off, the end result would not be as good.  Similar to if someone isn’t being nice.  We finished off assembly with a sing along to another catchy song, which again reiterated telling an adult.  Here is the link for the learners to share with you at home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70Uy7d4b-HY
