This morning we were learning more about needs and wants. We had a quick discussion to refresh our learning from assembly last week, which all could remember. We looked at 6 rights today; shelter, education, food, health, play and safety. Using visual images for each right we decided if they were a need or a want. Once all were categorised as a need we took this a step further and used a traffic light system to decide which were very important (green), in the middle (amber) and not important (red). Thankfully, all children again voted that all 6 rights were important. We rounded off these activities with a short video clip to recap on our discussion and learning today. Stars of the Week –
Star Class were P3M. They showed a fabulous example to the younger classes and many from P3M volunteered answers and came up to help too. Very well done.
Sweets, extra eats and treats… will be buzzing around my head now!! Catchy wee tune! Another good way of making children remember an important piece of learning.
It’s a challenge for me trying to order the needs discussed and interesting that the Children categorised them equally. Great learning Miss M.
Liam is enjoying being able to get involved in our discussions about what is being learned in assembly! Albeit he can’t tell me what has went on he will throw in his tuppenceworth…
