19.3.18

As we are nearing the end of term, this morning at assembly we reviewed our learning of the right to an education.  I asked a number of volunteers to share what they had learned in assembly this term and their answers were so informative and truly show what they have learned.  As well as this we related the learning to our experience of school and discussed what we like best at school, again identifying that we are very fortunate to receive an education.  A volunteer from each class came up to share their favourite part of school; maths, reading, lunchtimes, the playground and writing were shared by the volunteers  and my favourite response from a P2 pupil was learning is what they like to do at school!  I couldn’t put it better myself!  Comparing this to other children’s experiences, we watched a UNICEF clip about school, now that the children are receiving an education.  It was so lovely that our pupils were able to identify UNICEF as the charity who supported these children and again discus the video in terms of what they have learned this term.

Star Class were P2D.  Well done as many of you shared your thoughts at assembly today.

Star of the Week photos to follow……………

  1. It’s great hear the impact this valuable learning is having on the children. It will hopefully give the children an understanding of what a privilege learning and education is, as opposed to a task and something they do not view as valuable.
