This morning at assembly I introduced the new right we are going to be learning about. We recapped on the previous articles we had been learning about in assembly and I was so pleased to see that the children can remember about the right to have access to clean water and have a home. We are now going to be focusing on Article 28 which is the right to an education. I asked 5 volunteers to share why we come to school; their responses were – to do jobs, to learn, to play, to make friends and to do maths. We will continue to come back to these reasons as the weeks go on and as we learn more about children’s experiences of education (or not) all over the world.
Stars of the Week –
Star Class were P2MB. Very well done to you for sharing super answers, following the rules and working well as a team.
It will be interesting to see how the children respond to this …… It can only be a good thing for them to understand the importance of learning as it is something which is not often valued until you are older and wiser!! Well certainly in my case!! Now I am just older but not smarter and only slightly wiser…lol…..boy I wish I had stuck in at school !!
