Assembly 9.10.17

Finishing off our work this term on Article 27, we sequenced images of a house being built and then watched two videos.  One video was of a house being constructed in the U.K. and the other being built overseas.  Together we discussed the differences and the children came up with the machinery, the number of builders on site, their equipment, the weather and the size and number of houses.  Relating back to the UNCRC we recapped that although houses and homes may be look different they provide us with many essentials in life.  And if children are not accessing their right to have a safe home, they are missing many ‘needs’, which we are all lucky to have.  The children’s responses that were shared aloud were incredibly thoughtful and showed a real understanding of this right.
