Community Visit

This term P5/6 have been to visit the lovely ladies at Summmerhill House. We met some really nice ladies who all looked happy to see us. We were helping to decorate various cakes and biscuits with different colours of icing, sprinkles, marshmallows and cherries. We had such a good time.

‘It was nice to see the ladies happy and smiling at me.’

We have been practising hard for this event. It would be great to see you there.

Problem solving

In Primary 5/6 we have been focusing on money in Maths and on Tuesday we took part in a problem solving challenge. We had to work in pairs to help Lucille who was organising a party. She had a £10 budget and could choose between 3 flavours of drinks for the party.

Spritzer 24p each

Angel Brew 27p each

Merry Fizz 29p each

We had to spend as much of her £10 budget as we could.

We used the strategy ‘guess, check and improve’ to find different combinations.
