Primary 4 and Primary 1/2 have been paired up to work as partner classes this year. P4 went to visit the boys and girls in Miss Dyker’s class last week and introduce ourselves. P1/2 showed us round their classroom and told us about their favourite part of their class. We then returned the favour by showing them what working in P4 is like. Some of Miss Dyker’s class were lucky enough to have a story read to them.

We can’t wait to work with them and to share our learning with P1/2 again.

Pupils in Primary 4 have been learning how to use elkonin boxes to help with spelling.

Steps

1. select a word
2. sound out the word
3. put the first sound in the first box
4. continue for the 2nd, 3rd sound …etc until the word is complete

(Remember: 1 sound per box, a sound can be made of more than 1 letter)
