World Book Day!

The children had a fantastic time dressing up for World Book day! We had lots of different characters in the class, including,  four unicorns, Wally from Where’s Wally, Lego Batman, Fantastic Mr Fox, Matilda, Alice in Wonderland and a mermaid!

We also had lots of fun reading the books we got at the book swap and reading with our buddy class P5.

Class Of The Week!

This week Primary 2 won class of the week! As a reward for winning the children enjoyed a extra playtime. Well done Primary 2!

Maths- Measuring and Weighing

In Maths, Primary 2 have been doing some measuring and weighing. We explored measuring first and using our hands and feet measured different things in the classroom. We even measured ourselves to see who was the tallest and smallest in the class! We have also been doing some weighing and used cubes to weigh different objects.

Last week the children were invited to wear a touch of tartan and performed a poem, at the Ceilidh, for the senior citizens. The children performed a poem called “Scottish Rain” by Tom Byran. They did a fantastic job at learning the poem! Well done Primary two!

Primary two have also been doing some lovely artwork. We collaged thistle pictures and made Nessie pictures.

K’NEX Workshop

Today Primary 2 took part in a K’NEX Christmas workshop. They read the story “Aliens Love Panta Claus” by Claire Freedman and then had to build their own alien, using the K’NEX. After, they had to draw their own alien design on a pants picture. The children had a fabulous time! They worked really well in their groups and developed their skills in team work and cooperation.
