Space Monkey was sick.

Space Monkey has a cold so we have been teaching him how to blow his nose and sneeze without spreading germs. Sneezy Sam came to show us how far a sneeze goes if you don’t cover your mouth.

It is very important to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your hand or elbow when you sneeze so you don’t spread germs.

He also had a sore paw. We bandaged it up for him and bandaged each other up to so we can help each other if we are hurt.

We are helping Space Monkey.

Unfortunately Space Monkey crashed into a tree in the playground a few weeks ago. He is very lost so we have been teaching him about the local area. We wrote a letter to his Mummy and Daddy and taught him how to post it.

We have been looking after him very well.

His Mummy and Daddy wrote back to us to say that Space Monkey had never celebrated Pancake Day because they don’t have that on his planet. We had to go to Tesco to get the ingredients so we could make him some pancakes.

We all thought they were really nice pancakes. We had butter and jam or sugar and lemon on them. Thank you to Summer’s Grandma and Ollie’s Daddy for coming with us.

Bulb Planting at the Burnie

We were invited to plant bulbs at the Burnie yesterday by local Councillor Jennifer Stewart. We worked very hard helping to plant thousands of daffodils and are looking forward to watching them grow in the Spring. As you can see we got quite muddy! A huge thank you to our 3 helpers.

Term 2

It has been a very busy term so far and we are settling in to our new classroom nicely. We are busy preparing for our Christmas show and the school is feeling very festive.

We were all delighted to receive our Book Bug Bags.

Welcome to Primary 1

I have finally been able to go live! Thank you for your patience. After a week of consolidation on our sounds (s,a,t,i,p,n) we have moved on to c/k today and have been playing our castanets beautifully. We have also been busy being Snappy 6 crocodiles. He is very proud of his 6 sharp teeth but we know that to get rid of him you need to clap very loudly 6 times. Here are some pictures of us being Snappy 6.

Today was also the first day that we went live for ordering our lunch with our cards. We had a few technical difficulties but fingers crossed it will work tomorrow. This means that as the children come in first thing they will select the picture of the lunch they would like on the smartboard. For the first few days it might be a good idea for you to discuss with your child what they would like for lunch as you come to school so it is fresh in their minds.

I have also attached the class newsletter which should work if you click this link class newsletter term 1 . Any problems then please let me know.

Our Julia Donaldson book for this week is The Smartest Giant in Town.
