Primary 7 had a great time developing new skills in First Aid. They learned how to accurately administer CPR, how to respond if someone is electrocuted and how to treat fractures and sprains. They used their school jumpers as slings and enjoyed practicing on each other.

Sneezing
In Science we were exploring the best way to prevent the spreading of viruses via a sneeze. Using coloured water in spraying bottles, we measured how far the liquid went without anything blocking it, then with our hand blocking it and finally a tissue blocking the way. We found that tissues worked the best.
White Cliffs of Dover
Mrs Brown taught us all about popular music of WW2, and taught us how to sing ‘White Cliffs of Dover’. Here is a short clip of us singing the chorus (the entire song was too much for the blog!)
WW2 Trail
Last week 7S enjoyed a cold day out exploring how Aberdeen used to be in World War 2. We even go to go inside a real air raid shelter and practiced putting out fires with a pump! Thank you for a great day, Mr Patterson!
WW2 Workshop
7S were given an incredible opportunity to examine different sources to learn more about World War 2 in Aberdeen. Mr Patterson, from Urban Studies Aberdeen, brought in tons of exciting relics to look at. They even got to try on the helmets and gas masks!

Mountain Biking – Group 3
This week we got to ride bikes from Adventure Aberdeen to Hazelhead Woods to practice our mountain biking skills. It was a great morning! Especially when we got to come downhill out of the woods.
Survival Skills
Sadly, it was too icy for mountain biking this week. So instead we took a trip to the forest to build dens, make fires and, most importantly, drink hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows!
Mountain Biking
Group 3 have started their mountain biking! Just a bit of practice on flat ground first.
