Eco Committee Blog

Welcome to the new Eco Committee blog.  We will be keeping you up to date with the work of the committee here.

2016/17 got off to a flying start as we were awarded our 4th Green flag!

If you would like to see what we did last term, please have a look at the December post on the P6 blog where we were planting and constructing our new Willow structures.

January 2017 has got off to a very exciting start! Last term we started thinking about some improvements we could make to our playground.  Following a presentation at assemblies about caring for our wildlife garden, we have also decided that we would benefit from a quiet area/outdoor classroom area. Through a survey, we asked every class for their ideas.

Last Thursday  Stephen Bly (Community Engagement Officer from Aberdeen City Council) came to meet with us and some reps from the Pupil Council and we have identified an area which would be suitable.  Stephen also helped us with lots of ideas about how to construct and decorate the seating.  Natalie Ghazi from Vattenfall also came along as we are working in partnership with this turbine offshore company.

Watch this space to see how this project develops and also how we are working towards our 5th Green Flag.
