We would love families to share photos and even better short video clips of their shared home learning experiences.
To do this is very simple:
At the top of the blog there is a ‘+New’ button.
If you click on that there is a drop down menu.
Click on media.
You can either drop the picture of video file into the dotted box or select the file using the button.

It really is very simple.
Please give it a go!

Supporting Shared Learning Experiences at Home

Welcome to Danestone Primary Schools’ P4 & P5 Parents Blog!

Family involvement in children’s learning at home is known to make a real difference. It can have a bigger impact on children’s success at school than anything else – across all stages of education. Research into the effects of family involvement in education consistently shows that it can have significant positive effects. Families who take on a supportive and active role in their child’s learning can make a difference in improving:
– Attainment
– Achievement
– Behaviour
– Health & wellbeing
– Pupil aspirations / attitude to learning

Sometimes families may feel they lack the time, skills, knowledge or confidence to add to their child’s learning.

Research clearly shows that family engagement has maximum impact when families themselves are supported in developing skills and strategies to support home learning.

Over the next few weeks we are hoping to work with all our P4 & P5 families to support shared home learning experiences.

Over the next few weeks we will send home a weekly learning activity which we would really like you to share with your child.

The purpose of this blog is to offer and share support across all the P4 & P5 families. If you have a question then both Miss Lamont & Mr Roberts will be available daily to try and answer any questions. We would love other parents to also answer any questions as you may have just had a similar experience.

To help us, as a school, understand how we can support families engage in shared learning at home, we would really appreciate your thoughts, comments ideas upon the tasks we have given your children or anything else regarding shared learning at home. We would love to see conversations where parents are able to comment/support each other as well as communicating with school.

We really hope you will get involved in reading/commenting in this blog :-)
