Primary 7 Overview

This year we have had a lot of fun and as it was our last year we have been very busy with the ski trip, P7 Show and Prom, which we have really enjoyed.

We will really miss Broomhill School when we leave, and will never forget all the great times we’ve had.

Thank you Broomhill for everything you have done for us.

P7 Prom

As we walked up the red carpet, the excitement set in. The glittery lights shone down, as the paparazzi crowded around. Everyone looked amazing, especially Mr Carter in his top hat. In the gym hall, the decorations were stunning; glowing brightly. The music was blaring and everyone was dancing enthusiastically. We headed through to the dining room for delicious pizza, mocktails and lots of sweets. Afterwards, we were reunited with Mrs Ottato (p5 teacher) and Mrs Bannatyne (she used to work in the office), before getting more photos in the photo booth and dancing some more. At the end, there was another brilliant surprise- the ice cream van had arrived! Overall, it was an incredibly memorable night for everyone ending with a passionate sing along to See You Again.

Harlaw Visit πŸ“πŸ“šπŸ˜‰

Last Tuesday, we were invited to visit Harlaw Academy for a performing arts morning. We all took part in various activities including drama 🎭,art🐯 and singing🎼. At the end of the morning we performed all the thing we had been doing/creating that morning. The singing group sang songs from the lion king, the drama group preformed a scene from the lion king and the art group made animal masks. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves.

Competition Winner

This week, our class received some extremely exciting news; one of the pupils in our class, Dawn Alexander was announced as the Send a Cow African Fable contest winner. The whole class are very proud and happy for her as this is a gianormous achivement. The contest was judged on the other side of the planet so it’s outstanding that Dawn achieved such high standards to win the contest. Dawn was kindly gifted African themed books for the school which is wonderful due to the fact that the library is hopefully going to be refurbished over the summer holidays and I’m certain the books will make a fantastic edition to our collection of books. Overall Dawn deserves a humongous well done and we wish her luck in her future as a possible writer in the making!πŸ˜πŸ―πŸ…

This week we did our a p7 show backdrop and we worked like a team we had a lot of fun. We had a big idea for the backdrop and it’s looking very good! Everyone had a good time making it. We put a lot of time into it but it looks fantastic. We finished the backdrop in a day because we were so excited to see the results!πŸ˜ƒπŸŽ¨πŸŒ…image

Whizz WeekπŸš΄πŸΌπŸ†

This week we started our bike ability in the playground. We’ve been learning basic skills for cycling on the roads, as well as controlling our speed by having a ‘slow race’ – if you’re last, you win! We have also been working on left turns, and next week we’ll be learning right turns. Soon we’ll be cycling on the road, once everyone is ready.

We have also done first aid level 3 with a man called Tom. We have learned CPR, how to make a sling, and how to help angina sufferers, along with other things.

Today to celebrate Archie for Africa day we dressed up in the colours of the Ugandan flag (Red,Black and Yellow). πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬

Yesterday a man called Paul Hay came in to speak to us about Internet Safety. He had a whole PowerPoint,a few pictures and a video. πŸ’»

Internet Safety.

This week the whole school had the choice to either sprint, jog or walk around the outside of the playground 15 times (the equivalent to 6k) to cover the whole border of Uganda. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬

Easter Fun! 🐣🐰

This week we have been making Easter egg cup holders! First we moulded salt dough into a bunny shape, we put them in the oven for an hour and then we painted them!

image

This morning we went up to church for our Easter service where we sang our songs and listened to the Easter story!

Also this week we practised scenes from our p7 show where each group had to act and perform to the rest of the class!
