Dream Poems☄

Today we wrote dream poems.

They were about a dream we have had, would like to have, a nightmare or a dreamland.

Everyone did amazing poems but Ewan, Heather and Euan’s were OUTSTANDING!

When we wrote the poems we had to think about 4 main things:
Similes,imagery,onomatopoeia and personification.

Mr Cowie’s visit

On Thursday Mr Cowie came to visit us to talk about the Last Supper and the Holy communion. First we came up with 12 celebrities that we would invite to a dinner party such as: Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Megan Fox!

Although that would be amazing, at the last supper it was 12 normal people that attended (we now know as the 12 disciples) who were Jesus’s closest friends.

At the supper they were given bread and wine from Jesus, Jesus said,

“Remember me when you have these, the bread is my body, the wine is my blood.”

The disciples were confused but the next day Jesus was arrested. They then realised why Jesus had said to remember him.

Roald Dahl’s Whoopsy Whiffling Day

On the thirteenth of September, we celebrated Roald Dahl’s one hundredth birthday! As part of our celebrations we watched a live screening and practised drawing in the style of Quentin Blake. During the day, the whole school voted for their favourite Roald Dahl book. We also listened to Charlie and the Chocolate factory in Scots. Pupils brought in books from home and other Roald Dahl related things.

Here are some of the pictures from the day. The display was created by p6/7 and p7.

Maths

At the beginning of term we were learning about long division and multiplication. Long division is another method of division instead of short division. Long multiplication is a way of doing multiplication for sums like 362 x 54.

Once we had mastered multiplying by one, two, three and four digits: we challenged ourselves to create and answer tricker multiplication sums! Some people even attempted to multiply by 10+ digits.
