Today the children are busy learning all about the patron saint of Scotland, St. Andrew. Did you know? St. Andrew used to be a fisherman. Andrew was originally from Gallilee. He was also a disciple of Jesus. A Pictish king had a dream about St. Andrew the night before an important battle – then on the day of the battle the king saw an X shaped cross across the blue sky and the king’s army won! The Scottish flag represents this with a white x shaped cross across a plain blue background.
P3 are having fun designing their own tartan while listening to Scottish music and are creating a fact file about St. Andrew.
