Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day!

Hello everyone!

This week the bees have been very busy! At the start of the week we celebrated Chinese New Year by enjoying sweet and sour rice for snack and many art activities including Chinese writing, Chinese fans and beautiful Chinese lanterns. I’m sure they haven’t gone unnoticed.

We were excited to get outside on Tuesday for wheeled toys again and Wednesday for our woodies! Thank you to Lisa (Lucas’s mum) and Camilla (Joey’s mum) for helping! It’s much appreciated!  We enjoyed making bag kites in the wind.

This week we have also been making Valentine’s Day cards for our loved ones. Please look forward to receiving these tomorrow!

Please remember to bring your library books tomorrow!

We hope everyone has a lovely time off next week and we look forward to seeing you all when we come back!

Birdwatching and Mud Kitchen

Hello everyone

This week we have been involved in the Big Garden Birdwatch at the Woodies.  Thanks Fiona (Anna’s mum) for helping us.  We brought some bird food, bread and our binoculars and had to try tokeep really still and quiet, then we counted the birds we saw and ticked them on our tick sheet.

Happy days

Well done to our Bees who have made a fantastic job of welcoming the new children, finding ways to help and look after them and to build friendships.

Now that we are again settled into nursery routine we have been visiting new places within the school. We joined up with the Grasshoppers to play games and practise our listening and cooperation skills and also went upstairs to the infant library to hear Mrs Dillaway read a funny story titled “No Bot”.

At the beginning of the week the Bees took part in various activities to celebrate the birthday of Robert Burns.

We decorated table mats with tartan ribbon for our Haggis, Neeps and Tatties snack.

We made  “To A Mouse” pictures.

We acted out the story of “To A Mouse” and discussed feelings.

The children also enjoyed Space Foam sensory play.

“Like marshmallows, “like ice cream!”

Surprise! We hope you liked the calendars.

Last of all, a reminder that Friday is library day. No doubt the children will be eager to renew their books!

Woodies!

Hi everyone!

This week the boys and girls have been making a calendar for 2016! We hope you love their creation and look out for them all completed and ready to take home next week!

We are excited to say that this was our first week back to the woodies and a very first for our new children to come along with us! We hope they all enjoyed their time exploring the outdoors and a big thank you to our parent helpers; we wouldn’t be able to go without you signing up each week. Please continue to do so. (We know you enjoy it just as much as the children!)

This week at the woodies the boys and girls were making bird feeders with pipe cleaners and cheerios to hang on the branches for the birds! Will they still be there next week?

Not only this but the children were enjoying playing outdoor games with our parents such as ‘hide and seek’ and ‘what’s the time Mr. Wolf.’

Please remember to bring library books on Friday!

Welcome back

Happy New Year everyone and a big welcome to our new starts!

Every Friday the children will be able to choose a new library book. Please remember to return their book in order for them to choose another one.

This week the children are enjoying making junk model rockets for our space topic! We would appreciate if you could bring in any junk boxes you are recycling, for the children to continue expressing their creativity!

The children will be participating in music and drama activities relating to our space theme and we will continue to facilitate the children’s interests in their chosen topic!

We look forward to an exciting start to the new year!
