Bees

Hi everyone, it has been another busy week with the Bees!

On Friday, Luda led the children to do some actions/dance to some Interactive songs in various languages.

We have also been learning some new number and action songs. Nicole taught us ‘Ten Little Indian Boys and Girls so we could practise counting forwards and backwards from 1-5 or to 10. Some of our Bees are now confident to sing solo to the rest of the group who are learning how to be a good audience.

The pirate ship has caused a great deal of excitement, triggering a lot of expressive and imaginative language. Ooooh Aargh,

We decided not to go to the Woodies this week but to a smaller coned area, especially for our newer children. The others have been helping them to follow the safety rules and to practise our “walking in twos” before we go out again to the busy street. We also had a joint “free-flow play”  in the nursery, nursery garden and in the infant playground instead of the wheeled toys to help settle our new -starts and to accustom them to being in larger groups.

Finally, just a reminder that tomorrow is Library Day.

Happy days

Well done to our Bees who have made a fantastic job of welcoming the new children, finding ways to help and look after them and to build friendships.

Now that we are again settled into nursery routine we have been visiting new places within the school. We joined up with the Grasshoppers to play games and practise our listening and cooperation skills and also went upstairs to the infant library to hear Mrs Dillaway read a funny story titled “No Bot”.

At the beginning of the week the Bees took part in various activities to celebrate the birthday of Robert Burns.

We decorated table mats with tartan ribbon for our Haggis, Neeps and Tatties snack.

We made  “To A Mouse” pictures.

We acted out the story of “To A Mouse” and discussed feelings.

The children also enjoyed Space Foam sensory play.

“Like marshmallows, “like ice cream!”

Surprise! We hope you liked the calendars.

Last of all, a reminder that Friday is library day. No doubt the children will be eager to renew their books!
