Reading and Sounds 30/04/2018

Each week the Primary 2 boys and girls will be focusing on 1 phoneme.

This week our phoneme is…

oa

Please look in their home/school book for activities to support their learning. Play with them and encourage them to build their knowledge and understanding around theses sounds and blends. Extra practise at home makes a huge difference to the pupils spelling so any extra practise is super beneficial.

On a Friday we will do a spelling check up to see how the children are getting on with their sounds. This can be found in the back of their homework jotters.

Toys from the Past and Present Workshop

To round off our Toys workshop we had Mrs Legdon from Urban Studies in to do a toys from the past and present workshop. We had lots of thought provoking discussions and learnt a lot about the difference in toys. The boys and girls had the most wonderful time. Here are pictures of some of the toys we got to play with.

New Topic!

Our last topic for term 3 is going to be toys! The boys are girls are really excited to learn about toys from the past and in the present. Through discussion the children expressed that they would like to learn about toys from other countries and from the past.  If you have any old toys or ones from other countries we would love to add them to our display!

Thank you!
