Welcome to term 2 everyone, I hope you had a lovely October break!<\/p>\n
This term we have lots of exciting things to learn!<\/p>\n
Literacy<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In literacy we will continue to work on our single sounds<\/strong> in P1<\/strong> and our diagraphs<\/strong> in P2<\/strong>. Reading will also follow the usual format. Our focus for writing this term is\u00a0narrative\u00a0<\/strong>and Christmas themed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Numeracy<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In numeracy for P1<\/strong> we will continue to work with numbers within 10<\/strong>, including correct number formation<\/strong>. We will then move on to addition<\/strong> later in the term.<\/p>\n For P2<\/strong> we will be working with numbers within 100<\/strong> including place value<\/strong> and addition\/subtraction<\/strong> within 20.<\/p>\n For both\u00a0P1 and P2\u00a0<\/strong>our topic maths will focus on\u00a0data handling\u00a0<\/strong>as well as\u00a0estimation and rounding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Topic\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In term 2 we are finishing off the Our Community\u00a0<\/strong>topic. We will then have a one week mini-topic looking at\u00a0COP26 and Climate Change\u00a0<\/strong>followed by our festive-favourite\u00a0Showtime!<\/strong><\/p>\n Health and Wellbeing <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Our HWB focus in term 2 is on Core Values\u00a0<\/strong>such as\u00a0fairness, honesty and responsibility. <\/strong>In PE we are focusing on\u00a0movement\u00a0<\/strong>including things like\u00a0running, jumping, speed etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n RME<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This term we will be looking at Christianity and Christian Holidays.\u00a0<\/strong>We will also learn about the\u00a0Hindu festival Diwali\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0Jewish festival Hanukkah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Modern Languages and Music<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The children will continue to work with Mrs Gilmore for\u00a0French\u00a0<\/strong>and Mr Smith for\u00a0Music.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As you can see it will be a busy and exciting term for us, I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Welcome to term 2 everyone, I hope you had a lovely October break!
