{"id":43,"date":"2021-11-01T08:45:14","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T08:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ac\/abbotswellprimary1202122\/?p=43"},"modified":"2021-10-29T16:12:12","modified_gmt":"2021-10-29T15:12:12","slug":"term-1-and-2-clic-targets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ac\/abbotswellprimary1202122\/2021\/11\/01\/term-1-and-2-clic-targets\/","title":{"rendered":"Term 1 and 2 CLIC Targets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of our Big Maths scheme in school we do CLIC sessions for core numeracy.\u00a0 Each letter stands for an area of numeracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>C &#8211; Counting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>L &#8211; Learn Its (these are number facts which we learn so they can be quickly recalled without needing to work out the answer).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I &#8211; It&#8217;s Nothing New<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>C &#8211; Calculations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At this stage of Primary 1 we focus on the first two letters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Counting<\/strong> &#8211; saying numbers, counting skills and counting actual objects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learn its<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0<strong>1 + 1 = 2<\/strong> and <strong>2 + 2 =4.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you would like to do some maths homework, you can practise these skills at home. Try counting by saying the numbers up to 10, 20 or beyond if you can manage. If you can go forwards, try going backwards.
