These will be revised daily and displayed in the classroom. Our aim is for the children to recognise and be able to read the words. They can be reinforced at home by completing the common word homework for <strong>Thursday<\/strong> each week. Words for this week are <strong>t<\/strong><b>he<\/b>\u00a0and <strong>are.\u00a0<\/strong>You may need to help your child to write the number after counting the words together.\u00a0 From this week they can try to write the words too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ac\/public\/2018abbotswellp1c\/uploads\/sites\/7172\/2018\/08\/Reading-Owl-300x255.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"176\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reading will be done twice a week in school on a Monday and a Thursday so the children will get 2 new books each week. They will have heard the extended story in school so may be able to tell you more about what is happening in the pictures.
