This week we welcome a student teacher to our class. Miss Spowart will be with us for 5 weeks until the end of term and then returns next term for 4 weeks.

Tuesday is pancake day – those who ordered will have a pancake for snack.

Thursday is our next session of outdoor learning with Mr Miller. Please send the children to school wearing appropriate clothing for being outside all afternoon.

On Friday we celebrate World Book Day. Children should come to school dressed as a favourite book character.

Letter Sounds

This week we continue with the digraphs (2 letter sounds), as we have now completed all the single initial sounds. These are a little trickier for the children to learn and remember as they are often in the middle of words rather than at the start.  Our letter sounds this week are ch and sh. Letter ch homework should be completed for Wednesday and letter sh homework should be completed by Friday. Please think of any word containing the digraphs, for the phonics homework.

Common Words

Please continue to use the word walls in the white homework book to revise the sight vocabulary.  Words for this week are our and out. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday by counting and writing each word.

Reading

Reading continues on Monday and Thursday this week.
