*Dear parents/ carers,*

*Just a note to let you know that we in Primary 7 are trialing a change in homework. Almost all children have written a very persuasive piece of writing in favour of reducing the homework and most completed their homework last week. As a result, I am asking for those children to write out their spelling words at least twice more and write out their tables. I will therefore be expecting a considerable improvement to their spelling results at the end of **the week as there will be more time to actually learn the words and internalise the tables. I will also be looking for them to work on their speed when adding 2, 3, 4, and 5 as this is exceptionally vital for mental maths. These children have slips in their jotters to show you if they qualified or not.*

them into your spelling jotter. (Ask for newspaper if you do not have any/ there are free newspapers on buses, in shops, ask relatives / school.)
