We learned that you can buy poppies in different colours:<\/p>\n<p>Red poppies are to remember the people who died in war.<\/p>\n<p>Purple poppies are to remember the animals who died in war.<\/p>\n<p>Black poppies are to remember servicemen and<br \/>\nservicewomen of Black, African, West Indian and<br \/>\nPacific Islander Heritage.<\/p>\n<p>White poppies represent a commitment to peace and non-violent solutions while still remembering the victims of war.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-112\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ac\/public\/abbotswellp12022\/uploads\/sites\/7281\/2022\/11\/11193147\/Poppies-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ac\/public\/abbotswellp12022\/uploads\/sites\/7281\/2022\/11\/11193147\/Poppies-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ac\/public\/abbotswellp12022\/uploads\/sites\/7281\/2022\/11\/11193147\/Poppies-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ac\/public\/abbotswellp12022\/uploads\/sites\/7281\/2022\/11\/11193147\/Poppies.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The children used pointillism to paint a red poppy.
