Happy Birthday Yoma, we hope you have a lovely day!

Emilia is our Pupil of the Week for her fantastic hard work in all of our lessons! Keep it up Emilia!

As part of our upcoming block of learning on Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood we will be covering the following topics in an age appropriate way:
For more information on these subjects, please see the attached parent information letter. If you have any concerns please get in touch.
We have come to the end of our Historical topic focused on The Stone Age.
The children learned about the people, animals, food, art, housing and clothes from the Stone Age.
Last week we used clay to create Stone Age inspired necklaces. We used our hands to make beads and fangs from the clay and were helped to add a hole to thread them.
We enjoyed using the clay and getting a bit messy! I think they all look absolutely fantastic!

Happy Birthday Maggie, we hope you have a lovely day!

Today in class we learned about Remembrance Day and participated in a one minute silence at 11am to mark the end of World War 1.
The children watched this clip from the BBC showing the war as experienced by the animal inhabitants of a WW1 battlefield.
We discussed some of reasons why it is so important to remember and learn from the events of war.
We also learned about why the poppies are the symbol of Remembrance. We learned that you can buy poppies in different colours:
Red poppies are to remember the people who died in war.
Purple poppies are to remember the animals who died in war.
Black poppies are to remember servicemen and
servicewomen of Black, African, West Indian and
Pacific Islander Heritage.
White poppies represent a commitment to peace and non-violent solutions while still remembering the victims of war.

The children used pointillism to paint a red poppy. They also traced a poppy template and chose which colour to use to colour it in.
Alexander was the Playground Star in the lower stages this week. The PSA team are so impressed with with how nicely he plays with his friends. Well done Alexander!
