This weeks Pupil of the week is
Caleb for engaging in activities and being motivated to learn.
Well done Caleb!
This week the children have been discovering lots of different things about Scotland.
We have been learning about Highland Cows and some children drew their own coos. Did you know that all adult Highland Cows have horns!
We painted representational pictures of Thistles. Did you know that they are a spikey flower? So you have to take care if you see one growing.
We have even made our very own traditional oatcakes (well almost we used dairy free butter instead of animal fat).
The children also took time to explore the sensory bags developing their fine motor skills.
As it is colder the children created bird feeders using bird seed and coconut oil. It was very sticky!
As you can see we have had a very busy week as always.
Happy New Year and a warm welcome back to you all.
This term, we will be focusing on a letter and number each week.
Week beginning 10th January
Letter of the week
‘a’
We have been looking for things that begin with the letter ‘a’. So far we have found friends beginning with “a” and “a’s” on clothing, but we will continue to look for more things beginning with “a”.
Maybe you can find something at home beginning with “a” and upload this to ILD.
Number of the week
‘1’
How many number 1’s can you see on your way to nursery.
Scotland
This month we will be looking at things that are Scottish. These will include animals, food, objects and symbols.
