ELC went to Duthie park last week for their end of term trip. The children all did really well walking all the way to Duthie Park, having snack, a little play, their lunch and then walked back up the hill to nursery. Thank you to all the helpers who spent the day with us.
Yesterday we had our pamper day. The children had the opportunity to experience lots of different pamper activities. These included face painting, tattoos, hair pleating, nail painting, feet and face pampers. A big thank you to all who helped out, it was much appreciated.
The nursery team would like to say a huge congratulations and thank you to all our families who have been helping us fund raise to improve our garden.

This week we would like to look at our families. Families come in all shapes and sizes and can look very different from each other.
Everybody has their very own family at home that is unique to them.
When you come to Abbotswell you join our School Family. Those children who are in our ELC are already apart of our school community and know how everybody works together to make our Abbotswell Family a happy, caring, and safe place to be.
Challenge
This week we have two challenges for you.
2. Do you know the letter sounds in your name?
This week we would like you to find objects that have the same letter sounds as the ones in your name.
If you do not know all your letter sounds that is okay. Just find items for the ones you do know.
Example.
Name Sam – Straw, Apple, Monkey
Or Strawberry, Slipper, Sock

This can be anything you think will happen at Primary1 or in the school. If you’re grown up writes down what you say and can post it on your ILD or emails them to the nursery staff.

The ELC children have had another exciting week. In amongst primary 1 visits for our pre-school children, we have had Mr Miller, den building, trying out first aid, orbeez in the outdoor water tray, painting using marbles, a dinosaur world and role play using fruit and vegetables just to name a few things. We look forward to the nice weather continuing so we can make the most of the garden areas.

This week we have the photos of our really helpful Office Staff. Most of you will know Mrs Douglas in the office already. The Office staff help everybody in school.
I would also like to tell you about our Dinner Ladies. They work in the school kitchens and cook lunch for all the boys and girls. They are really friendly and always have a smile. It makes them really happy when the children remember to say please and thank you!
Challenge
When you go to school most children have either a school dinner or a packed lunch to eat at lunch time. You also get to take a healthy snack for playtime!
This week’s challenge is for you to be able to open up a packet or a container. For example:

This week we have been enjoying the great British weather and have had several days where we have had to rush into nursery for coats as there has been a down pour, but that hasn’t stopped us having fun. Here is just a few photos of what the children have been upto:
