Friday 27th March 2020

Good morning. We’ve made it to the end of the week. Hope you’re all well and managing to keep your spirits up.

Don’t forget you can do PE with Joe every day. It’s live at 9am.

Friday is assembly day.  Here is Fischy Music’s assembly if you would like to watch.

P1

Practise your phonics sounds from this week. Try the maths games on Education City or Top Marks.

P2

Try doing your own spelling test.                                                                              If you would like to do Beat That for this week click on the 10 link below. Remember to set a timer for 50 or 60 seconds.

10

Try the maths games on Education City or Top Marks.

On a Friday we usually do Bounce Back our mental health and resilience program.

Our topic at the moment is friendship. Listen to this book which has 5 little stories about frog and toad who are friends with very different personalities.

Listen to this song.

Try making a friendship poster with drawings or cut out pictures of people being friends and doing things together.

Song for today

Maths

I have created 2 maths cities on Education City, one for P1 and one for P2. Log in and have a try.

There are some learn screens – Learn Screens help introduce or reinforce a topic. Great as part of a starter or for independent use. These can be watched. There are also some activities to try with related worksheets if you want to print them. Lastly, Play Live is a real time 60 second challenge in which students can play against each other in a competitive arena. This will help with quick recall of number facts for addition and subtraction.

PE with Joe is on live every day at 9am but you can do it anytime. Thursday is our PE/Outdoor learning day so give it a try today.

Or if you want to get outside why not try an ABC scavenger hunt. Go into your garden to see what you can find for the different letters of the alphabet.

Thursday is also our French day – listen to The Very Hungry Caterpillar in French.

Wednesday 25th March 2020

Yoga for today – Wednesday is usually our yoga day.

Art – some drawing to try with Steven Lenton and Lydia Monks. Please send a picture of any artwork you create.

Finally, I’m sure many of you will have seen children’s pictures of rainbows popping up in house windows. The idea is that children make a picture of a rainbow (sometimes with a positive message written on) and display in a house window to spread hope and happiness during this unsettling time. If your child has made one or would like to make one, please send me a photo of it as I would love to share a rainbow each day in my post to brighten up our day! 🌈😃
