Over the past few weeks we have been learning All about Magnets.
Lots of the children thought that magnets were attracted to metal objects but after some investigation we found out that Magnets are only attracted to things made from iron or steel!
This week we were experimenting to find out Which magnet was the strongest? Illandra came up with the idea to test them by finding out how many ‘mental’ things each different magnet could attract. We decided to test the magnets using paper fasteners.
We found out that the Circular Magnet was the strongest as it attracted all 100 paper fasteners!
Liam and Henry also suggested that we could find out the strongest magnet by investigating how close the magnets needed to be before it attracted the paper fastener.
This photograph shows how close the magnets got when the the paper fastener was attracted to them.
