Making String Cup Telephones

This term we have been learning about Famous Scottish Inventors.

We have investigated John Logie Baird and the television as well as Alexander Graham Bell and the telephone.

Last week we really enjoyed making string cup telephones and exploring how they worked.

To begin with we couldn’t get them to work!  Then we discovered that the string needed to be tight!!

There was no stopping us once we got the idea – we joined lots of the string and cups together and made a phone where eight of us could listen to one person talking!
