P6S Class Blog

We have had another fantastic term in P6 and have included photos of some of our highlights.

We are looking forward to having our student, Mr Thompson back with us in January for three weeks.

It was a pleasure meeting everyone at our parent interviews. May you have a lovely Christmas and all the very best for 2019!

Our Debate

Early this term, Mr Thompson led a debate about whether or not adverts make people buy things they cannot afford.  This linked well with our focus on money, in maths. We chose the most outstanding pieces of evidence for the speakers to present in the debate. We all worked really well together again. Our speakers and team leaders carried out their duties effectively to produce the best possible debate. The argument that won was the ‘against’ team saying adverts don’t make you buy things you can’t afford.

Joseph Coelho

We really enjoyed our BBC ‘Authors’ Live’ interview with poet Joseph Coelho, on Wednesday the 22nd November. We thought his poetry was incredibly inspiring and wrote our own poems, ‘If all the world were…..’ using a similar structure, e.g. ‘If all the world were stationery…..’ and ‘If all the world were animals…….’

Ultimate Vlogger

This term, we have been working collaboratively to create gifts for a specific demographic, videoing and self- evaluating our progress in our topic, Ultimate Vlogger. Some examples of gifts were a pencil case, a paper mache car, a baby’s tugging box, a dog’s tug of war toy, a juicer and a shell shaped lamp.  Now we’re starting to build our gifts!

Paired  Reading

We have loved our paired reading sessions with P1/2 this term!
