Welcome back! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday. We have had a very busy first week back.

 

Writing

This week the children created a recipe for a magic potion. We were learning to use sequence works such as first, next, then and finally as well as bossy words.

 

Maths

This week we have been learning about 3D shapes. We revised the names of 3D shapes and then learned the features of 3D shapes such as face, edge and vertex. The children then played some guessing and sorting games.

 

ICT

This week in ICT we focused on our typing skills. We played a game from the BBC called Dance Mat Typing. This shows the children were to place their hands on the keyboard and which fingers to use. We had lots of fun with this.

 

 

Topic

We learned this week that our new topic is Lego! The children were all very excited about this. We watched a short video about the history off Lego and then we designed our own Minifigures which are all super!

We have had another busy week this week in P4G. Here are some of the things that we have been learning:

Topic

On Monday we were learning about Recycle, Reduce and Reuse. The children looked at their snack packets to see if they could recycle them. We were shocked to learn that we cannot recycle crisp packets so we decided that we would reuse them. On Thursday, we designed our own crowns using our crisp packets which we saved throughout the week.

 

Maths

This week we have been learning about tessellation. The children tried to tessellate different shapes and they all made some colourful patterns using tessellation.

Presentations

Last week the children were all working very hard on their energy presentations. Today the children presented their presentations to the rest of the class. Everyone did a fantastic job and showed great teamwork over the past week! Well done P4G!

Welcome to the P4G Class Blog. We have had a very busy term so far and all the children are settling in well.

Topic 

We have been learning about renewable and non-renewable energy. This week we have been researching a type of renewable energy with a group. The children are now making a slideshow on what they have learned.

 

Art

On Thursday we designed our own Christmas cards which will be made into real cards for families to buy.  Everyone enjoyed being creative and we have designed some very nice cards!
