Welcome back and thank you...
I hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas break and are back to work and school feeling a little refreshed. Thank you very much for your very kind gifts at Christmas. I have already enjoyed spending my vouchers and have made my way through most of the yummy treats!
I would also like to wish you and your family all the very best for 2016!
Homework
The children will continue to learn a sound a week and have homework relating to this. It is also worth revisiting sounds covered previously, this will help to keep these fresh in your child’s head.
In maths there will be a variety of activities, depending on what we are focusing on in class. We are starting with a block on time, this is something you can help your child with at home. Start with o’clock, then half past and then quarter past. Using a simple analogue watch rather than a digital one. There are also fun games avaliable online if you wish-

Your child will also continue to have two reading books sent home per week.
Topic
We will be continuing to learn about space during the beginning of this term, with a particular focus on astronauts and what they need to do to prepare to go into space. This will include looking at diet and exercise. We will also be looking at the news and the work of Tim Peake. This is an area you may wish to investiagate with your child.
Reminders
Please make sure that your child has a full gym kit in school, wet day activity and a pair of indoor shoes.
