As part of our Big Maths scheme in school we do CLIC sessions for core numeracy.\u00a0 Each letter stands for an area of numeracy.<\/p>\n
C \u2013 Counting<\/strong><\/p>\n L \u2013 Learn Its (these are number facts which we learn so they can be quickly recalled without needing to work out the answer).<\/strong><\/p>\n I \u2013 It\u2019s Nothing New<\/strong><\/p>\n C \u2013 Calculations<\/strong><\/p>\n These are the topics we will be covering in term 3.<\/p>\n Counting <\/strong><\/p>\n Saying and reading numbers within 100<\/p>\n CORE number to 10 (showing good understanding by comparing, ordering, estimating and doing number stories)<\/p>\n Counting multiples of 10 and 5.<\/p>\n Learn Its<\/strong><\/p>\n Number bonds to 10.\u00a0 \u00a0 1+9\u00a0 2+8\u00a0 3+7\u00a0 4+6\u00a0 5+5<\/p>\n The doubles from 1-9.<\/p>\n Adding on 2.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a04+2\u00a0 5+2\u00a0 6+2\u00a0 7+2\u00a0 9+2<\/p>\n Adding on 3.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a04+3\u00a0 5+3\u00a0 6+3<\/p>\n Saying the multiples of 10 and 5.<\/p>\n It’s Nothing New<\/strong><\/p>\n Jigsaw numbers to 10. Knowing the missing number to make 10. e.g. the jigsaw number for 3 is 7 etc.<\/p>\n Doubling single digit numbers. Halving these answers.<\/p>\n Doubling 2 digit multiples of 10. Halving these answers.<\/p>\n Calculations<\/strong><\/p>\n Addition<\/p>\n Subtraction<\/p>\n Multiplication – grouping sets and counting the total<\/p>\n Division – sharing into 2 or 3 equal groups<\/p>\n <\/p>\n These resources can be used to reinforce our CLIC targets at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n
