Our teaching student Miss Burns joins us again this week for the next 3 weeks.

On Tuesday afternoon we will be going up to Kincorth library.

P1C will now have outdoor learning on a Thursday afternoon with Mr Miller for the next 4 weeks. 

Letter Sounds

We have now completed all the letter sounds. Homework will now be spelling/word making which will be given home on a Monday and should be completed by Friday. Instructions are in the homework books.

Words for this week are here and there. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday.  Your child should write the number after counting the words together and also try to write the words.

Reading

The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday.

 

Maths

This week we will continue with our money topic. We will be looking at the value of coins and adding and subtracting with money.

 

As part of our Big Maths we do CLIC sessions in the class which now in Primary 1 involve C – counting  L – learn its I – it’s nothing new and C – calculations.

Learn its –  1 + 1 = 2,  2 + 2 = 4,  3 + 3 = 6,  4 + 4 = 8,  5 + 5 = 10

Topic

We continue with our finance topic this week looking at the value of coins and what they look like. We will also be discussing ways to pay for items, making shopping lists and adding totals.

This week we will start a new maths topic – money. We will be looking at coins as well as adding and subtracting with coins.

Topic

This week we will be doing some Easter activities.

Week beginning Monday 25th March 2019

Our open afternoon is on Wednesday from 3-4pm. Come into the school to see what we have been doing this term.

We will be going to church on Friday for our end of term service. Treat snack day is also on Friday.

We finish for the Easter Holidays on Friday at 3pm. The new term starts on Monday 15th April. Hope you all have a lovely holiday.

Topic

We have been listening to lots of Rainbow Fish stories. Our window fish display is now complete and our classroom display is taking shape. This week we will carry on with our ribbon weaving and jellyfish making. We have been learning about some of the creatures that live under the sea in a coral reef. We will continue finding out about them this week.
