Week beginning Monday 27th May 2019

Parent interviews are on Tuesday and Thursday this week. You should have received a copy of your child’s report on Friday.

Letter Sounds

We have now completed all the letter sounds. Homework will now be spelling/word making which will be given home on a Monday and should be completed by Friday. Instructions are in the homework books.

Word pot words have been taken out so the word making cards can be kept in the word pots. You may also want to use the word pot for the letter sound cards for the week.

Common Words

Please keep revising word walls 1-4. Word wall 5 is now in the white book for practice at home.

Words for this week are came and little. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday.  Your child should write the number after counting the words together and also try to write the words.

Reading

The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday.

Maths

This week we will finish with our topic of time. We will also be doing some addition and subtraction.

 

As part of our Big Maths we do CLIC sessions in the class which now in Primary 1 involve C – counting  L – learn its I – it’s nothing new and C – calculations.

Counting – counting arrays of dots

Learn its –  2 + 3 = 5,  2 + 1 = 3

It’s Nothing New – doubling 1 digit numbers

Topic

We continue with our health topic this week. We will be sorting different foods into their groups.

School is closed on Thursday due to polling.

Topic

We continue with our health topic this week. We will be looking at healthy eating and what foods we should be eating lots of and not so much of.

Week beginning Monday 13th May 2019

Miss Burns, our teaching student is now finished in our class. We wish her well as she moves on to begin her teaching career.

Outdoor learning continues this Thursday afternoon with Mr Miller. Please be prepared to go out in any weather.

Our class assembly is on Friday at 1.30pm. Lots of our class time this week will be spent preparing for it.

Topic

We continue with our health topic this week. Most of our time will be spent preparing for our assembly. We are learning about eating 5 a day, eating healthy snacks and getting exercise.

Week beginning Wednesday 8th May 2019

Remember Monday is a holiday and Tuesday is an in-service day so the children are only in Wednesday – Friday.

Outdoor learning continues this week on Thursday morning with Mr Miller. Please be prepared to go out in any weather.

Superhero Day is on Friday. Come dressed as a rel life superhero and bring a donation for Cash For Kids.
