Our open afternoon is on Wednesday from 3-4pm. Come into the school to see what we have been doing this term.

We will be going to church on Friday for our end of term service. Treat snack day is also on Friday.

We finish for the Easter Holidays on Friday at 3pm. The new term starts on Monday 15th April. Hope you all have a lovely holiday.

Letter Sounds

This week our sounds are er as in winter and river and ar as in star and scarf. Letter sound er homework should be completed for Wednesday and letter sound ar homework should be completed by Friday. 

Common Words

Please keep revising word walls 1-3. Word wall 4 is now in the white book for revision at home.

Words for this week are this and see. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday.  Your child should write the number after counting the words together and also try to write the words.

Reading

The children will get 1 new book this week on Monday. Books will be taken in on Thursday for the holidays.

 

 

 

Maths

This week we will continue with number work. Our focus for written maths will be addition and number to 10.

 

As part of our Big Maths we do CLIC sessions in the class which now in Primary 1 involve C – counting  L – learn its I – it’s nothing new and C – calculations.

Counting – counting in 2s to 20

Learn its –  1 + 1 = 2,  2 + 2 = 4,  3 + 3 = 6,  4 + 4 = 8,  5 + 5 = 10

It’s Nothing New – doubling 1 digit numbers

Topic

This week the children will be doing some more creative activities related to the Rainbow Fish stories. We will be making a starfish collage and doing some pointillism (patterns of closely painted dots)  to paint a rainbow fish.
