Week beginning 3rd December 2018

This week we have the Open Afternoon on Wednesday from 1.30-3.00pm. You are welcome to come into the classroom and help your child do some Christmas crafts.

We will be busy this week making chocolate fudge to sell at the School Christmas Fair on Saturday 8th December.

Letter Sounds

This week we are revising our last six letter sounds g, o, u, l, f, b. For homework use the letters in the envelope at the front of the pink book to make simple 2/3 letter words such as log or bug. Please write the words you make on the sheet in the pink book for Friday.

Common Words

The children now have the second word wall in their white books which can be used at home for revision. Words for this week are if and of. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday. You may need to help your child to write the number after counting the words together. They can now also try to write the words.

Reading

The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday. We will be starting a new set of books on Thursday – Big Cat Collins. These books have lots of repetition in the stories so your child may remember the words from the previous page.   Encourage them to look at the words or point to them as you read.

We will continue with our rehearsals this week in the hall and on the stage. I decided to give the children home a copy of our song words so you can use them at home as well as the video links if you want.  They are doing really well with the songs. The children have all now tried on their costumes and have their positions for our performance.
