Letter Sounds

This week we are revising our last six letter sounds c/k, e, h, r, m, d. For homework use the letters in the envelope at the front of the pink book to make simple 2/3 letter words such as red or her. Please write the words you make on the sheet in the pink book for Friday.

Common Words

Please continue to revise the first 12 common words on the word wall in the white book. Words for this week are to and do. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday. You may need to help your child to write the number after counting the words together.

Reading

The children will continue with the books with words. These will go home on a Monday and a Thursday so they will get 2 new books each week. The children will have heard the extended story in school so may be able to tell you more about what is happening in the pictures. Encourage your child to look at the words or point to them as you read.

Word Pots

The children still have the main character names in their word pot. Kipper, Biff, Chip, Mum, Dad and Floppy.

Maths

This week we are continuing with our counting as well as starting some work on shape. We will begin with 2D shape – circle, square, rectangle and triangle, drawing, recognising, making patterns and looking at their properties.
