This week Childsmile will be in school on Thursday and Friday doing the fluoride varnish.
Homework – Spelling and reading homework will continue this week. Spelling words will be given home on Monday and the book should be returned to school on Friday. Our spelling pattern is wa as in was and swan. Please write each word 3 times and choose 2 words and write a sentence with each. Spelling test will be on Friday so homework should be completed by then.
Reading – The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday.

French – This week our French will be our daily routine of the day and date for our calendar. We will also focus on the weather, asking and answering Quel temps fait-il?
Topic – The children have been doing more writing about Katie Morag characters and listening to more stories. We have also been finding out about the real island of Coll which Struay is based on. We have been drawing and painting landscape pictures of the Isle of Struay and will continue with them this week, and will also find out more about the author Mairi Hedderwick.

Topic – The children have been doing some writing about Katie Morag. We have also been looking at the map of the fictional Isle of Struay. We have started to design our own islands and will draw and label areas on our island maps and on an outline of Struay.

Topic – For the start of this term the whole school will be doing author studies, with each class choosing an author to focus on. P3 will be doing Mairi Hedderwick who wrote the Katie Morag stories. We will read and listen to lots of her stories and do activities related to them.
This week will again be mainly Christmas activities.
Our class party is on Monday afternoon along with P3/4 Room 6.
On Friday we will be attending church for our end of term service at 10.30am.
The children can bring something in from home to do in class on Friday if they want.
School closes for the holidays on Friday at 3.00pm and we return on Monday 8th January. Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year.

Our school trip to the pantomime is on Tuesday morning – remember packed lunches for when we get back to school.
The Christmas Concert is on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
Friday is Christmas jumper day. We also have achiever’s assembly, Christmas lunch and Christmas cinema afternoon.

The school Christmas Fayre is on Saturday.
