This week we will be going up to Kincorth library on Tuesday morning.
Wednesday is our digital curricular evening 6-7.30pm.
Thursday is World Book Day – don’t forget to come dressed as your favourite book character.
Homework – Spelling and reading homework will continue this week. Spelling words will be given home on Monday and the book should be returned to school on Friday. Our spelling pattern is ai/ay/a-e as in make and clay. Please write each word 3 times and choose 2 words and write a sentence with each. Spelling test will be on Friday so homework should be completed by then.
Reading – The children will get 1 new book this week on Monday. Thursday will involve lots of literacy activities for World Book Day.

French – This week our French will be our daily routine of the day and date for our calendar. We will also focus on counting up to 30.
Topic – Last week the children were finding out about where the Vikings came from and where they travelled to. They found out about Viking longships and did some writing about them and made longship pictures.

This is a very short week for the children.
Monday is a holiday for all and on Tuesday and Wednesday the school is closed to pupils for in-service days.

Topic – This will be our last week on our Mairi Hedderwick author study. We will watch and listen to some more stories, do some further writing and look at a map of Struay to find specific points. The children showed off their landscape paintings last week at our whole school author study assembly.

Topic – The children have been doing some writing about the author Mairi Hedderwick and listening to more stories. They have also been enjoying watching some of the Katie Morag stories which were filmed for the BBC. We have been drawing our own front covers for some of the Katie Morag books too.
