Today we used bingo daubers to make dots on our letter d’s.  They look beautiful.  We all worked hard to try doing the dots in the direction that we make the letter d.  We also had fun making our new words in the rice trays.  We hope you get to see this in action when you come to the open evening tomorrow.

We really enjoy singing with Miss Hamilton every Monday.  We have been learning to use sticks to keep a steady beat. And have been trying to make our letters with the sticks in different songs.  We have also been learning to join in with lots of different songs and actions.

We were star class at assembly this week.  We had been listening very carefully to Miss Mackay.  Please go to Miss Mackay’s blog to see us with our trophy.

This week the top table were the yellow table again! They got 96 cubes.  Here they are with their certificates.

New sounds – these will be issued on Tuesday.

Pirate sound treasure hunt.  Use the treasure maps that were sent home. Please return these to school on Friday.

Reading will be on Monday and Wednesday.  Please ensure reading records are sent to school every day.

We have been learning to play new maths games.  We really like the Lego building game and it has helped us get better at using words like add and take away.  We are also learning to take turns and follow rules with less adult support.  We look forward to playing our new games with you at the open night next week!

We we have been making  the number stories for numbers up to 6.  We are learning how we can combine different numbers to make the number stories.  Today we made ladybirds to show different ways of making 6 – hopefully you will be able to see them at the open day next week.
