Today we visited the ICT suite for the first time. We were all very excited about this! We used paint software to make pictures of our choice. Our targets were to change the colour and size of our paintbrush. We were also learning to control a mouse and shut down a computer.
Next term
The children have decided that our project for next term should be Superheroes. Today they made a big list of all the things they already knew and they chatted about things they would like to find out about. They all showed an interest in wanting to build Batmobiles, superhero labs and superheroes. Please collect a range of junk over the holidays for us to use for our models. No toilet roll tubes, medicine containers or raw meat packaging please.
The children also decided they wanted to learn more about flying superheroes. They are going to be involved in some experiments with flying superheroes next term. Please collect lots of kitchen roll tubes for this.
If you have any superhero costumes, books or toys that you would be willing to lend to us for a short period please send them in. Please do not send anything in that has a high financial or emotional value.
Many thanks.

Golden time
Star Writers
We wrote stories about a pig in fancy knickers based on the story ‘The Pig’s knickers.’ Our targets were to correctly spell ‘the’ in our writing, to choose an interesting character and to use lots of detail. We voted for the four star writers that we thought had achieved their targets. We tried to give kind and helpful comments about our friends’ writing to help them get better.
Here are the very proud star writers.
Team games
Outdoor maths
We have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather this week. On Thursday we took our maths activities outside. We played racing games on the number square to help us get better at recognising numbers to 100 – your child could maybe show you this whilst you’re waiting for the bell in the morning. We also made giant number lines and jumped, hopped or skipped up and down them to help us see how easy it is to add or subtract 1. We finished with a team game using adding sums, hoops and bean bags.

Request
Please collect some take-away containers for us to store our magnetic letters in. This will make spelling activities easier in the classroom (and is a great excuse for a take-away this weekend!) Please send them in a.s.a.p. Thank you.
