Term 4 2020-2021

The final term is, as always, a very busy one!

For Literacy we are focusing on spelling, grammar, extended writing and novel studies. Some of our pupils are reading Michael Morpurgo’s Wreck of Zanzibar which is quite apt for our own setting. The children chose this book themselves. Other pupils are reading the Supertato picture book series- we wonder if the evil pea will visit us here at Lismore!

In Numeracy we are continuing with fractions, decimals and percentages with the whole class. We are also focusing on data handling and angles this term.

In HWB we are looking at growth mindset- we are getting very good at developing this! We are also learning about food and health which is helping us understand our new school lunch menu! YUM!

Our project this term is Scottish history. We are looking at significant aspects in Scottish history through time. The children appear to be enjoying this and are learning lots!

This term we also have three theme days exploring, in depth, our values, ICT and Scottish history (on Lismore). We are also expecting outdoor instructors to visit us in June and we are hoping for a visit from Kilmartin Museum. We are so lucky to be able to have visitors again (outside).

Ukulele and French focuses continue this term. We can now play ten chords and know the island strum. In French we have learned numbers to 10, colours, days of the week and weather. We are consolidating this learning this term.
