On the 2nd of December 2025 we went on a class trip to Stirling Castle.

First we collected are lunches and made sure everyone was at school on time next we walked up the path at 8:45 to the bus which was at the bus stop at the turning circle then we drove of it took around 2 hours and 30 minutes to get there.when we arrived to the castle we met our guide Kristen, it was very cold and windy.

We went to the queen’s bedroom and met a medieval musician named Duncan who played us a tune on his Lute. The music was very calm and soothing. The lute was round and shiny even though it looked weird it didn’t sound weird he wore a red mediaeval outfit and told us about his life working at the castle.

Then we went through to the next room. We met a guard named Hamish  who had a big spear. Hamish then told us about some of our second names and where they came from then taught us how to bow and curtsy and told us to do it in front of every royal sign on the walls and took us into a secret passage way no other tourists can go it was very special knowing we were some of the only people who got to go there.

Soon after we had lunch in the center of the castle under a sheltered bit there weren’t many people around except for the actors. We had about 30 minutes to eat which I thought wasn’t enough time.

Soon after we learnt about the wall and how it had layers of grass and rock and normal castle wall to protect them from enemies we then did a spot the difference from the entrance now and then.

We then went to the guards spot which was very tight but cool. There were also some bits left of the dungeon.

Then we went to the kitchen and played a game where you had to remember what was in the kitchen that you wouldn’t eat nowadays and we had to find 3.

Finally we went to the great hall where we saw the Christmas tree getting set up and 2 of us got crowns to put on and to get a picture of everyone surrounding us either kneeling sitting or standing. Then we went to go see some models of some of the props we could use.

Then we went back to the bus and drove back. It was a long journey but we eventually got back at around 4:45.
