Pupils from S1 \u2013S3 in Physical Education participate in a wide range of team and individual activities.<\/p>\n

The focus in each activity is to improve pupils\u2019 Cognitive Skills, Physical Competencies, Personal Qualities and Physical Fitness. This is achieved in each activity by focusing on participation, developing performance and improving Health and Wellbeing in every sense (physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual) through a range of team and individual activities. The activities also equip pupils to:<\/p>\n

  1. Apply movement skills and develop competences and concepts<\/li>\n
  2. Develop the ability to cooperate and compete<\/li>\n
  3. Develop their skills in evaluating and appreciating<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    S1 BGE Course<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Pupils in S1 will have two periods of physical education each week and will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities: Football, Hockey, Badminton, Scottish Dance, Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Basketball, Athletics and Softball.<\/p>\n

    S2 BGE Course<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Pupils in S2 will have three periods of physical education each week (x1 double & x1 single periods) and will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hockey, Rugby, Gymnastics, Scottish Dance, Badminton, Volleyball, Health & Fitness, Athletics and Softball.<\/p>\n

    S3 BGE Course<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Pupils in S3 will have two periods of PE and where the timetable allows choice of activities to actively participate in. The activities include: Football, Badminton, Gymnastics, Netball, Social Dance, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Health & Fitness, Basketball, Athletics and Softball.<\/p>\n

    S3 Elective<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Pupils in S3 will have the opportunity to actively participate in physical education within the elective. Here they will start to study the subject in greater depth in preparation for future study at National 4 or National 5 level. Here pupils will participate in the following activities: Hockey, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball and Pop Lacrosse. They will focus also on Fitness Testing and Analysis, Collecting Data and Analysis, Developing Fitness, the Social Factor, Introduction to Sports Leadership and the Mental and Emotional Factors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
