Scarecrows and Roald Dahl

This week we had great fun finishing off our Farmer Bunce Scarecrow for the Scarecrow Festival at Ardardan. You can go along Saturday and Sunday and see him with the scarecrows the other classes have made and scarecrows that have been made by local groups and other schools.

Friday we had a Roald Dahl day and we all dressed up as a character from one of his books. Even the teachers dressed up.

This week in Primary 1 it has been all about colours and patterns.

In maths we were recognising and making patterns. We made Mrs Simpson and Mrs Girling some lovely necklaces which they wore with pride.

In PE this week we were using our ball skills and learning the French words for colours when playing games with the balls.

In Art we were learning the Primary Colours and we made these Mondrian inspired art pictures.

We have also been working hard on our phonics and this week we were learning the sounds p and n. In numeracy we were learning all about the numbers 7 and 8.

Another Busy Week

This week in Primary 1 we have been learning the sounds s and i and have started to make sentences with our sight words. Some of us have shared the games we have been playing at home with our sight words with our friends and teachers.
