We are incredibly proud to be a Rights Respecting school and of having achieved the Silver Rights Respecting Award. This session, we are hoping to achieve Gold status!<\/p>\n

WHAT IS A RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOL?<\/h3>\n

The UNICEF UK\u00a0Rights\u00a0Respecting\u00a0Schools Award (RRSA) is based on principles of equality, dignity,\u00a0respect, non-discrimination and participation. The RRSA seeks to put the UN Convention on the\u00a0Rights\u00a0of the Child at the heart of a school\u2019s ethos and culture to improve well-being and develop every child\u2019s talents and abilities to their full potential.<\/p>\n

A rights-respecting school is a community where children\u2019s rights are learned, taught, practiced, respected, protected and promoted. Young people and the school community learn about children\u2019s rights by putting them into practice every day.<\/p>\n

We feel it is important that when children\u00a0learn about their rights it is important that deeper connections are also made in their understanding about the nature of rights so they are taught the ABCDE of their rights.<\/p>\n
