Using mobile technology

Mobile technology is defined as any item that is carried to school by a pupil.  This includes, but not limited to; mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, portable computers, music playing devices, cameras; digital or video, USB memory sticks, portable hard disks or any other technology that will allow digital or optical storage..

Mobile technology devices
While accepting the value of mobile technology, it is essential that pupil use of mobile technology does not impede teaching, learning and good order in and outside of classrooms.

*   Mobile technology devices are allowed to be used before school starts, during break times, lunch times and after school finishes

*   Mobile technology devices are not allowed to be used when travelling to and from classes

*   Ear pieces and headphones have not to be worn when travelling to and from classes.

*   Ear pieces and headphones have not to be worn in class at any time without permission of the class teacher.

*   Mobile technology devices must be switched off and out of sight in class unless permission has been given by a member of staff.

*   Mobile technology devices are not to be brought out in class for any purpose unless permission has been given by a member of staff

*   A mobile technology device should not be used in the school or its grounds to take a photograph, audio recording or video of a fellow pupil or member of staff unless permission has been given by a member of staff.
