This residential programme is intended to give pupils an insight into university life while inspiring them to remain dedicated at school and aim for high achievement in their S5 year and beyond.  The programme will include a number of academic taster sessions as well as workshops designed to equip pupils with the necessary skills to progress successfully into Higher Education.

Sutton Trust Summer School

Applicants should be high-achieving and are more likely to gain a place if they meet additional social mobility criteria.

Applications close at midday on Tuesday 3rd March

This year over 2000 students on a Sutton Trust Summer School will experience university life through:

  • spending a week in halls of residence at one of 13 leading UK universities
  • attending academic sessions in one of over 40 different subjects
  • meeting like-minded students from across the UK and taking part in social activities

It is completely free for students to attend. All costs including travel, accommodation, food and activities are covered by the Trust and our partners.

Highlands and Educational Trust

Please find below, information and relevant forms from the Highlands and Educational Trust to which our students can apply for some financial support.

The bursary is based on academic achievement. In the main, in previous years, the expectation has been that students will have achieved 5 A passes at Higher in S5.

The application form needs some input from parents/carers and the HT Report is usually completed by the student’s Guidance Teacher.

The deadline is 30 April 2020.
